Oct 31 - This means WAR!

Bible Verse: Ephesians 6:12 New Living Translation (NLT) "For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places."

Prayer: "Dear Lord,  Remind me that life isn't all fun and games. The devil is real, and he knows that since You redeemed the human race by dying on the cross, he has already lost the battle - - but he wants to take as many poor souls down to hell with him as he can.  Help me to fight bravely and valiantly to bring the hope of the Gospel to those who may be living in darkness.  May I never be afraid to challenge the darkness, for I know that just the mention of Your name repels the darkness in an instant, for You are the Light of the world! In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN."

Prayer: "Dear Lord,  I don't know when You will be returning to earth to take us to Heaven, but I'm not just going to sit here and wait idly by.  Help me to keep myself busy living life, helping others, and faithfully "running the race" that is set before me.  May I keep my eyes on Jesus and never lose hope of His return.  Until then, I'll keep on doing what I can with what I have, right where I am. AMEN."

I want to love You more! I want to be more like You!  Lord, I give up my own selfish desires and I totally surrender my life to You. Take hold of the steering wheel of my life and take me anywhere You want me to go. In Jesus' name, AMEN."

Prayer: "Dear Lord, You've redeemed me -- you've saved me!  I could shout it from the mountaintops - - Jesus saved me! Bible Verse: Psalm 9:2 New Living Translation (NLT) "I will be filled with joy because of you. I will sing praises to your name, O Most High."

Prayer: "Oh Lord,  how I love to sing praises to You, but even more, I love to hear your praises sung by little children.  They don't mind singing the same song over and over and over and over again.  I love to hear my kids come home from church singing a song they've just learned - - so full of joy!  Lord, please help me to always have that childlike joy within my heart whenever I sing to You. May those wonderful words truly be music to my ears as I listen to my children sing - - and may I never tire of hearing them sing about Your love, mercy, grace, and forgiveness. "Wonderful Words of Life"

Sing them over again to me,
Wonderful words of life,
Let me more of their beauty see,
Wonderful words of life;
Words of life and beauty
Teach me faith and duty.

Beautiful words, wonderful words,
Wonderful words of life;
Beautiful words, wonderful words,
Wonderful words of life.

Christ, the blessed One, gives to all
Wonderful words of life;
Sinner, list to the loving call,
Wonderful words of life;
All so freely given,
Wooing us to heaven.

Beautiful words, wonderful words,
Wonderful words of life;
Beautiful words, wonderful words,
Wonderful words of life.

Sweetly echo the Gospel call,
Wonderful words of life;
Offer pardon and peace to all,
Wonderful words of life;
Jesus, only Savior,
Sanctify forever.

Beautiful words, wonderful words,
Wonderful words of life;
Beautiful words, wonderful words,
Wonderful words of life!

Beautiful words, wonderful words,
Wonderful words of life!

Oct 22 - Come Just As You Are

Bible Verse: John 4:14 New Living Translation (NLT) " ' But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.' "

Prayer: "Dear Lord,  I come to You today with nothing in my hands. I don't have any right to think that You would even listen to me, but You have promised in Your Word that whoever believes and calls on Your name will be saved.  Today, Jesus, I cry out to You and ask that You will once again wash away my sins.  I start out each day with such good intentions, but by the time the day is through, I have often let You down.  Dear Lord, please walk with me today and hold my hand.  I come to You, just as I am, asking You to be in control of my life -- every thought that runs through my mind, every word that comes out of my mouth, and every single thing that I do. In Your precious name I pray, AMEN."

Bible Verse: Philippians 3:20 New Living Translation (NLT) "But we are citizens of Heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for Him to return as our Savior."

Prayer: "Dear Lord, Sometimes I get so "settled" into what I call my "home," as though this is where I belong, but there are other days when I just get "that feeling" of longing for Heaven.  I can't wait to see the place that You have prepared for me. I don't care if it's a cabin or a mansion, so long as it's near where You are.  Remind me that I am an alien - - I am not of this world, for Heaven is my REAL home! In Jesus' name, AMEN."

Bible Verse: Matthew 19:26 New Living Translation (NLT) "Jesus looked at them intently and said, 'Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.' "

Prayer: "Dear Jesus,  Help me never to underestimate what I can do with Your help. You walked on water, You healed the lame and blind, You raised people from the dead, and, perhaps most amazingly of all - - You saved a stubborn fool like me!  Who am I to question Your leading? Who am I to doubt Your power? You can do anything and everything, and with You by my side, so can I! Bible Verse: Romans 8:34 New Living Translation (NLT) "Who then will condemn us? No one - - for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and He is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us."

Prayer: "Dear Lord, I have no words to express my gratitude for all that You are and all that You have done for me.  Your death on the cross frees me from the bondage of sin.  Your resurrection from the dead gives me the assurance of everlasting life. Every day, You intercede on my behalf, pleading my case to the Father, and marking each sin of mine that gets written in the Book of Life "FORGIVEN." How can this be? I am so unworthy! I have done nothing to deserve Your indescribable love and mercy, and yet You have saved me anyway! I bow before You, Jesus, and worship Your Holy name. AMEN."

Prayer: "Dear Lord, Whenever I feel like I am "less than" or "not enough," remind me that I am Your beloved child and that when You look at me, You always see the best in me.  When I get discouraged, remind me that You will never give up on me, You will never forget me, and You will never leave me to struggle alone.  Thank You, Jesus, for loving me! "Remind Me Who I Am"

When I lose my way,
And I forget my name,
Remind me who I am.
In the mirror all I see,
Is who I don't wanna be,
Remind me who I am.
In the loneliest places,
When I can't remember what grace is.

Tell me once again who I am to You,
Who I am to You.
Tell me lest I forget who I am to You,
That I belong to You.
To You.

When my heart is like a stone,
And I'm running far from home,
Remind me who I am.
When I can't receive Your love,
Afraid I'll never be enough,
Remind me who I am.
If I'm Your beloved,
Can You help me believe it.

Tell me once again who I am to You,
Who I am to You, whoa.
Tell me lest I forget who I am to You.
That I belong to You.
To You.

I'm the one you love,
I'm the one you love,
That will be enough,
I'm the one you love.

Tell me once again who I am to You.
Who I am to You.
Tell me lest I forget who I am to You,
That I belong to You, oh.

Tell me once again who I am to You.
Who I am to You.
Tell me lest I forget who I am to You,
That I belong to You.
To You.
To You.

Bible Verse: Romans 8:21 New Living Translation (NLT) "The creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay."

Prayer: "Dear Jesus,  There are so many glorious days to sing about -- the day You were born, the day that You died, the day that You rose again, the day that You came into my heart and saved me, and the day the You will return in the skies to take me to Heaven.  All of these are such glorious, glorious days!  I can hardly wait to see Your face, to hold Your hand, and to bow before You to thank You and Praise You for saving me! "One Day"

One day when Heaven was filled with His praises
One day when sin was as black as could be
Jesus came forth to be born of a virgin
Dwelt amongst men my example is He

Living He loved me dying He saved me
Buried He carried my sins far away
Rising He justified freely forever
One day He's coming O glorious day

One day they led Him up Calvary's mountain
One day they nailed Him to die on the tree
Suffering anguish despised and rejected
Bearing our sins my Redeemer is He

Living He loved me dying He saved me
Buried He carried my sins far away
Rising He justified freely forever
One day He's coming O glorious day

One day the grave could conceal Him no longer
One day the stone rolled away from the door
Then He arose over death He had conquered
Now is ascended my Lord evermore

Living He loved me dying He saved me
Buried He carried my sins far away
Rising He justified freely forever
One day He's coming O glorious day

One day the trumpet will sound for His coming
One day the skies with His glories will shine
Wonderful day my beloved ones bringing
Glorious Savior this Jesus is mine

Living He loved me dying He saved me
Buried He carried my sins far away
Rising He justified freely forever
One day He's coming O glorious day

Oct 12 - Giving God Total Control

Bible Verse: 1 Corinthians 14:25 New Living Translation (NLT) "As they listen, their secret thoughts will be exposed, and they will fall to their knees and worship God, declaring, “God is truly here among you.” "

Prayer: "Dear Lord, I will admit that sometimes when I have worshipped You, it has been out of habit or ritual and I have simply gone along with what others are doing because it seemed like the thing to do at the time.  Lord, today, I recommit my life to You. I give You my heart and my soul, and I want You to completely recreate me. May my worship be totally genuine -- may I sing and pray from the very depths of my soul!  Lord, I want to be totally Yours, with no reservations.  I give You everything, every part of me. Make me whole, make me new, Lord -- make me more like You! Your love is everlasting, and I rest in this unfailing love.  Consume me from the inside out, Lord - - this is my prayer! Bible Verse: Psalm 96:8-10 New Living Translation (NLT) "Give to the Lord the glory He deserves! Bring your offering and come into His courts. Worship the Lord in all His holy splendor. Let all the earth tremble before Him. Tell all the nations, “The Lord reigns!” "

Prayer: "Dear Lord, I humbly bow before You in worship and adoration. I am not worthy to even approach Your throne, but because of the blood that You shed for me on the cross, and because I have claimed Your shed blood as the atoning sacrifice for my sins, I can now call myself Your child. You are the Creator and Ruler of all things, and today I crown You the Lord of my life. I give You complete control over every aspect of my being and ask that You would rule my life according to Your will.  You are the only true King, and I worship You today as the Lord of all that is and ever will be! In Your precious name I pray, AMEN."

"Crown Him With Many Crowns"

Crown Him with many crowns, the Lamb upon His throne.
Hark! How the heav'nly anthem drowns all music but its own.
Awake, my soul, and sing of Him who died for thee,
And hail Him as thy matchless King through all eternity.

 Crown him the Lord of love, behold His hands and side,
 Those wounds, yet visible above, in beauty glorified.
No angel in the sky can fully bear that sight,
 But downward bends His wand'ring eye at mysteries so great.

Crown Him the Lord of peace, whose hand a scepter sways
From pole to pole, that wars may cease, and all be prayer and praise.
His reign shall know no end, and round His pierced feet
Fair flowers of paradise extend their fragrance ever sweet.

Crown Him the Lord of years, the Potentate of time,
Creator of the rolling spheres, ineffably sublime.
All hail, Redeemer, hail! For Thou hast died for me;
Thy praise shall never, never fail throughout eternity!

Prayer: "Dear Jesus, From a young age, I trusted in You to save me. I asked You to come into my heart and be my Savior, and I have never regretted that decision. You have faithfully carried me through many years of struggles and brought me to several triumphs.  Although I am not yet "old," I can still say that over the years I have seen You work marvelously in my life - - and the longer that I have served You, the sweeter our relationship has grown to be.  I am so thankful for Your enduring faithfulness to me. Since I gave my heart to Jesus,
The longer I serve Him, the sweeter He grows.

The longer I serve Him the sweeter He grows;
The more that I love Him, more love He bestows.
Each day is like Heaven, my heart overflows.
The longer I serve Him the sweeter He grows.

(musical interlude)

Every need He is supplying,
Plenteous grace He bestows.
Every day my way gets brighter,
The longer I serve Him the sweeter He grows.

The longer I serve Him the sweeter He grows;
The more that I love Him, more love He bestows.
Each day is like Heaven, my heart overflows.
The longer I serve Him the sweeter He grows.
The sweeter He grows.
