July 30 - This is What I Believe

Bible Verse: Romans 1:16 New King James Version (NKJV) "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes."

Prayer: "Dear Lord, help me to study and to KNOW what I believe. And Lord, may it not just be "head knowledge," but may it be "heart knowledge."  Help me not just to memorize verses so that I can prove something to someone, but to live out what I believe so that others around me can see that there is something different about me.  Help me to never be ashamed to share what I believe with others. May what I believe change my heart and impact every single part of my life! In Jesus' holy name, AMEN."

July 28 - Come, Now is the Time to Worship

Bible Verse: John 4:23 New Living Translation (NLT) "But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way."

Prayer: "Dear Lord, help me not to put off the things that are important.  Remind me that EVERY DAY is the day to worship You, for You are my Creator and Sustainer.  Don't let me be like the man who said he was "almost persuaded" to give his life to You. I give myself wholly to You in worship. I come before You with thanksgiving and praise, for You alone are worthy of my worship and adoration.  I praise You, Jesus, for all that You have done and continue to do in my life. July 27 - This Too Will Pass

Bible Verse: 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 New Living Translation (NLT) "Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong."

Prayer: "Dear Heavenly Father, no matter what I'm going through right now, remind me that it won't last forever and that You will be walking with me through it all.  In Jesus' name, AMEN."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I've had heartaches like this before
And disappointments by the score
I claim the victory at last
 This too will pass

(Can I say it again?)
I've had heartaches like this before
And disappointments by the score
I claim the victory at last
 This too will pass

(Listen to me!)

I've had heartaches like this before
I've had disappointments by the score
I claim the victory at last
 This too surely will pass

The sun will shine, I know the sun will shine
It can't rain all the time
Those clouds of gray
Will have to pass away, away, away
 yeah!

So bare your heartaches your griefs and pain
Whether the sunshine and the rain
(shhh) Just know it can not last
(whatever you're going through)
 This too will pass

The sun will shine, it can't rain all the time
Those clouds of gray
Will soon have to pass away, away, away
 yeah!

So bare your heartaches your griefs and pain
Whether the sunshine and then the rain (Hallelujah)
What you're going through can not last, (Hallelujah)
This too will pass, this too will pass, this too will pass
This too will pass, this too will pass, this too will pass

This too, this too will pass
This too, this too will pass
This too, this too will pass
This too, this too will pass

(Troubles, heartaches, tribulations, burdens, loneliness -- it's gonna pass!)

It's gonna pass
If you trust God
He'll make it pass
Yes He will
All your problems
All you worries
All you burdens
In the midnight hour
God will fix it!
This too will pass!

 I don't care what you got - -
High blood pressure, low blood pressure, or no blood at all.
This too will pass!

(teaching congregation individual parts)
This too will pass!
(ssssh) Now everybody say "oooh"
This too will pass!

July 26 - Through it All

Bible Verse: Psalm 29:11 New King James Version (NKJV) "The Lord will give strength to His people; The Lord will bless His people with peace."

Prayer: "Dear Lord, You've taken me through some very rough times, but You never left me to fight a battle alone.  You have always been there by my side and many times You have carried me when I didn't have the strength to go on.  More than once, I have questioned WHY you have allowed things in my life to happen the way that they have, but I am learning to trust that You have the answers and that someday in Heaven You will reveal Your master plan. Then I will see how You have been working in my life to mold me, to teach me, and turn me into the person that You want me to be.  Thank You, Lord, for being there with me through it all. In Jesus' name, AMEN."

Bible Verse: Psalm 86:12 New Living Translation (NLT) "With all my heart I will praise you, O Lord my God. I will give glory to your name forever!"

Prayer: "Dear Lord, I cannot even BEGIN to properly praise You for all that You have done for me.  You gave up Your heavenly throne to come down to earth to save me.  You gave up Your life so that I could have eternal life.  I will sing Your praises, and I will not be ashamed. I don't care who hears me! When I'm riding in the car, I will sing along with songs of worship and I don't care who sees me!  You are the Almighty God, Creator of Heaven and earth, and You are so worthy of my praise! July 24 - Lord, I Need You

Bible Verse: Mark 2:16-17 New Living Translation (NLT) "But when the teachers of religious law who were Pharisees saw him eating with tax collectors and other sinners, they asked his disciples, “Why does he eat with such scum?” When Jesus heard this, he told them, 'Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do. I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.'"

Prayer: "Dear Lord, I bow humbly before You and admit that I am nothing but scum.  I need You. Without You, I am nothing. I cannot do anything about my sinful desires on my own.  Without Your sacrifice on the cross, I would be lost forever. Even though my sins are many, Your grace is more than enough to cover them all.  Let me rest in the knowledge that You have saved me and will continue to work in my life to mold and shape me into the person that You want me to be. Help me never to forget that I need You each and every day to keep me from temptation and to walk with me and show me the right way to go. In Jesus' name, AMEN."

Bible Verse: Psalm 35:9 New King James Version (NKJV) "And my soul shall be joyful in the Lord; It shall rejoice in His salvation."

Prayer: Dear Lord, when was the last time that I felt pure joy in Your presence -- You know, that deep down, bubbling over, can't keep it in kind of joy? Lord, please help me recapture that feeling in my heart once again. Too many times I get so jaded by the rat race of this world that I forget the joy that can be found only in You.  I am so thankful that You have come into my heart and forgiven my sins -- that You have given me a REASON to have joy in my heart!  Thank you Jesus! July 22 - I'd Rather Have Jesus

Bible Verse: Matthew 6:33 New King James Version (NKJV) "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."

Prayer: "Dear Heavenly Father, There are so many things in this world vying for my attention. There are bills to pay. There are deadlines to be met. There are people to please.  And then, there is the world's measurement of success -- who can amass the most money and possessions. Lord, help me not to lose sight of what is truly important - - my relationship with You! Keep me close by Your side and remind me that all of the fame and fortune that this world can offer is NOTHING in comparison to the eternal life that You offer.  Lord, compared to all of the trappings of this earth, I'd rather have You as my Lord and Savior. July 21 - When Jesus Comes Again!

Verse: John 14:1-3 New King James Version (NKJV) “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.  In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also."

Prayer: "Dear Lord, Oh, how I long to see Your face. I can't wait for the day when you return to gather Your children and take us to Heaven to live with You forever.  Thank You for dying on the cross and rising again, because that is what makes this all possible.  When I accepted You into my heart as my Lord and Savior, I received eternal life -- which means I get to go to heaven with You! Lord, help me live in such a way that others can see the joy and hope in my life.  May I be aware of the things going on in the world around me that show me when Your return is imminent.  I can hardly wait to see You.   I have so many questions I want to ask You.  Oh, Lord, what a day that will be!  In Your precious and Holy name, AMEN."

July 19 - How He Loves

Verse: Romans 8:37-39 New Living Translation (NLT) "Despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Prayer: "Dear Heavenly Father, when I contemplate Your great love for me, it is beyond what I can even fathom.  How comforting it is to know that NOTHING in this world or beyond it can ever separate me from Your love.  It doesn't matter who or what I am or what I do or where I go, You will always love me unconditionally.  It was that great love that sent Jesus to the cross for my sins, and I thank You and praise You with all that I am for that huge sacrifice, for without it, my life would be empty of meaning or purpose.  Thanks to Your love, I can wake up each morning with a spring in my step and know that no matter what life throws at me, I can handle it, because I am upheld by Your unfailing love. In Jesus' name, AMEN."

Bible Verses: 1 Corinthians 6:14 New Living Translation (NLT) "And God will raise us from the dead by his power, just as he raised our Lord from the dead."

Prayer: "Dear Lord, I thank You and praise You for the wonderful promise You have made to renew us to new life.  You have overcome the grave, and we need not fear death, for we know that when we die, the next thing we see will be Your face.  Thank You for being willing to die for us, not knowing for sure if the Father would raise You from the dead, for now we have the hope and the guarantee that we will be raised just as you were.  I thank You for the promise of Heaven, where there will be no more of the agony and  suffering that we see upon this earth. Truly, I rejoice, for since I am Your child, I have nothing to fear in death; rather, I look forward to seeing You face to face. In Your precious and holy name, AMEN."
