August 10 - A Meeting in the Air

Bible Verses: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-16 New Living Translation (NLT) "And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died. We tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have died. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God."

Prayer: "Dear Lord, What a blessed assurance that we will once again see our loved ones who accepted You as their Savior before they died.  I can hardly wait to meet some for the first time, and get reacquainted with others.  Oh Lord, what a wonderful day that will be when You come again in the clouds, bringing our loved ones with You! Then we who are born again and remain alive on earth will be gathered up together with them in the clouds, and we will be "whisked away" to Heaven to live with You forever!  What a wonderful promise! Thank You, Jesus, for making this all possible by dying on the cross for my sins! In Your precious and holy name I pray, AMEN."

(Today is my Grandpa Alfred's birthday. He died the year that I was born, so I never got to meet him.  I'm told that I inherited some of my musical talent from him via my father.  I can't wait to meet Grandpa in heaven and sing and play together with him. This song is one he enjoyed playing and singing! Happy Birthday Uncle Alfred!)

Song: Johnny Cash "Daddy Sang Bass"
