August 17 - Glory to His Name!

Bible Verse: Hebrews 2:9 New Living Translation (NLT) "What we do see is Jesus, who was given a position “a little lower than the angels”; and because He suffered death for us, He is now “crowned with glory and honor.” Yes, by God’s grace, Jesus tasted death for everyone."

Prayer: "Dear Lord, may I never take for granted the immense sacrifice that You made on the cross for me. You gave up Your royal position in heaven -- You gave up Your very life! And, You would have been willing to do it even if I were the only person on earth. That leaves me speechless with wonder.  I praise You and thank You for being willing to shed Your blood so that I could be saved from my sins.  Come live in my heart, Lord Jesus, and be truly glorified as the King of my life. Glory to Your name! AMEN."

(Full Lyrics Below)

Down at the cross where my Savior died,
Down where for cleansing from sin I cried,
There to my sin was the blood applied;
 Glory to His name!

 Glory to His name,
Glory to His name;
There to my sin was the blood applied;
  Glory to His name!

(instrumental)

I am so wondrously saved from sin,
Jesus so sweetly abides within;
There at the cross where He took me in;
    Glory to His name.

(Oh sing) Glory to His name,
Glory to His name;
There to my sin was the blood applied;
  Glory to His name!

Come to this fountain so rich and sweet;
Cast thy poor soul at the Savior’s feet;
Plunge in today, and be made complete;
    Glory to His name.

(Oh sing) Glory to His name,
Glory to His name;
There to my sin was the blood applied;
  Glory to His name!

Glory to His name,
Glory to His name;
There to my sin was the blood applied;
  Glory to His name!

Yes, there to my heart was the blood applied;
Glory to His name!
